Justin McVay
Public Relations Manager
Justin McVay is public relations manager of Golden Gaming, Inc. He joined the company in 2010 and oversees all public relations efforts for the company, including 42 taverns in Las Vegas and Reno, three casinos near Denver, Colo., and one hotel-casino in Pahrump, Nev., as well as a slot route operation, Golden Route Operations, throughout the state.
McVay brings with him more than 13 years of experience in communications. Prior to joining Golden Gaming, Inc., McVay worked for Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino where he was public relations manager, directing all public relations activities and serving as the spokesperson for the largest downtown Las Vegas casino operation, as well as its sister property in Laughlin, Nev., to the press and customers.
Prior to that, McVay worked as a public affairs officer and official spokesman for the U.S. Air Force, reaching the rank of Captain. While serving in the Air Force, McVay directed internal and external communication strategies by evaluating issues, authorizing plans and messages, and targeting local, regional, national and international press to achieve Department of Defense, Air Force and installation communication goals.
McVay’s accolades include receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He was also recognized with a National ADDY Award by the American Advertising Federation for his contributions to a marketing campaign for The New York Times.
In his spare time, McVay enjoys music and film and likes playing guitar and traveling. As a Veteran himself, McVay is an advocate for bettering Veterans’ rights and access to care. He is a member of PRSA, AAF, USAF Civilian-Military Council and the Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus, as well as volunteers as an alumnus advisor for the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas.
McVay received a Bachelor of Arts in communication from The University of Alabama with concentration in advertising and public relations, and studied graduate programs at the DoD’s Defense Information School and the MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program at Harvard Law.
