Sheila Pankas
Vice President of Compliance, Human Resources & Community Relations
As vice president of compliance, Pankas is responsible for all aspects of regulatory compliance for Golden Gaming, Inc. and its subsidiaries in more than nine jurisdictions in two different states. She is responsible for ensuring that more than 250 licenses are maintained in good standing and that each licensee complies with the requirements of each jurisdiction at the state and local levels.
Pankas oversees the Human Resources for all of our properties with a combined total of over 1600 team members in Las Vegas, Pahrump and Black Hawk, CO. She recently implemented a team member of the month and year program for all of the properties and has created more personal communication with the owner and his team members.
Pankas has been with Golden Gaming for the last four years and has excelled in her primary role of compliance. She is also involved in community relations and facilitated relationships with Clark County Public Education Foundation, MDA and Golden Gaming, Inc.’s sponsorship of the 2009 Great Santa Run with Opportunity Village which raised $20,000 by promoting through our 35 taverns.
Pankas started her background in regulatory compliance 13 years ago in the slot route industry at Southwest Gaming, the predecessor corporation to Golden Gaming, Inc. After five years with Southwest Gaming, Pankas spent a short time at the Gaming Control Board as an agent with the tax and license division before moving on to IGT as a senior regulatory compliance analyst for more than four years. She also served as regulatory compliance manager for Station Casinos before joining Golden Gaming, Inc. in August 2005.
Born and raised in up-state New York, Pankas attended Cornell University before moving to Las Vegas in November 1991, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration at UNLV.
