Golden Gaming’s ‘Biggest Loser’ Challenge Results in 600 Pounds Lost

After three months of hard work in its second annual ‘Biggest Loser’ challenge, Golden Gaming, Inc. team members lost more than 600 pounds as a collective company and are celebrating the results by donating more than $6,000 ($10 for every pound lost) to local nonprofit Opportunity Village.

To kick-off 2010, Golden Gaming team members entered the weight-loss challenge as a way to develop healthy diet and exercise habits and for the chance to win $3,000. Team members were paired together with each team of two putting $100 towards a final prize pool, and Golden Gaming owner and CEO Blake L. Sartini added additional inspiration to the pot by raising the grand prize to $6,000 (to be split between the winning team).

All team members had an initial weigh-in and body fat test at the beginning of January and the final weigh-in and body fat test was held on Wednesday, March 30 revealing the final result of more than 600 pounds lost. Winning the challenge was Golden Gaming COO Steve Arcana and his teammate Amy Sances, who is vice president of business development and general counsel. Together they lost more than 22 percent of their initial body weight and cut their initial body fat percentages by more than 42 percent.

The most individual weight lost by one person throughout the challenge was 54 pounds and one individual was able to cut their body fat percentage by 80 percent.
