Golden Gaming, Inc. and Opportunity Village Announce Charitable Partnership

Golden Gaming, Inc. (owner and operator of the popular PT’s and Sierra Gold tavern brands) and Opportunity Village have announced their plans for an ongoing charitable partnership between the two organizations.

After a highly successful partnership developed during the 2009 Las Vegas Great Santa Run in which Golden Gaming raised more than $20,000 for Opportunity Village, both Golden Gaming and Opportunity Village saw the potential to expand their relationship in order to benefit from their popularity within the community.

“We are very excited for our partnership with Opportunity Village to expand to new levels in 2010,” said Sheila Pankas, vice president of compliance, human resources and community relations for Golden Gaming, Inc. “Opportunity Village is an important charitable organization within the Las Vegas community and we are proud to support them in any way possible.”

Golden Gaming will support Opportunity Village in the coming months during key Opportunity Village events and fundraisers, such as serving as the food sponsor for O-Vino in August, participating in the Ragnar Relay in October with its own 12 person relay team and providing auction items for Camelot at the Magical Forest in November, as well as attending the event. In November, Golden Gaming will host its annual companywide golf tournament at DragonRidge Country Club with all money raised from the event benefiting Opportunity Village. Additionally, Golden Gaming will once again serve as the title sponsor for the 2010 Las Vegas Great Santa Run in December in an attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of Santa’s in one location.

Linda Smith, Opportunity Village’s associate executive director stated, “Golden Gaming has become far more than a corporate sponsor. They are a lifeline. They have the capacity and the heart to reach out and help Opportunity Village in so many ways. Golden Gaming is the perfect example of what corporate community commitment is. We can’t thank them enough for their incredible commitment to people with intellectual disabilities.”

Golden Gaming will also host several internal company fundraisers throughout the year in support of Opportunity Village. From January through March, Golden Gaming held a biggest loser-type competition among team members resulting in more than 600 pounds lost as a company. Golden Gaming donated $10 for every pound lost resulting in more than $6,000 to Opportunity Village. Throughout November and December Golden Gaming will sell danglers in all taverns in support of the Las Vegas Great Santa Run and host the second annual Kill the Keg promotion at participating taverns.
